The American Cancer Society estimates 11,000 people die each year from multiple myeloma. Multiple myeloma is also the second most common hematological cancer in the United States.
Multiple myeloma is formed by malignant plasma cells. It speeds up the bone dissolving process and attacks the immune system. There are about 15,000 new cases reported every year in the United States. Once diagnosed there's about a five year survival rate. Although research for the disease has advanced greatly, there is still no cure.
The CAM Foundation was created to help public safety
officers diagnosed with multiple myeloma. I would like
to thank you for supporting the men and women who
have devoted their lives to public safety. These men
and women and their families have all taken an oath
to sacrifice, serve and support you and the citizens in
their communities.
Unfortunately there is still a need for a foundation like
this one, when those men and women and their families
need your support.
To find out more about multiple myeloma or to read
about some of the public safety officers in Arizona who
have multiple myeloma or how to become a partner of
the CAM Foundation and donate, use the links to the left.
The CAM Foundation sincerely thanks you.
